This week we take a flight out to the desert sands of somewhere far away, and let the sandy natural tones inspire our latest wedding colour palette. Sun bleached, desaturated and oh so classic, nude is the loveliest and the chicest choice of colour.
Not only does ‘Desert Sand & Nude’ lend itself to a romantic elopement in a hotter climate, but it also reminds me of a ballerina’s shoe ribbon, a perfume bottle, or the colour of sand at dusk. I adore the way these colours compliment so many skin tones and keep palettes super neutral, chic and above all, natural. And as natural beauty is so often the most popular choice for a bride, a natural colour tone will only deem to highlight that.
Think sandstone buildings, sand between the toes, and nude colour ribbons blowing in the wind. This is definitely a wistful and delicate palette, highlighted beautifully by skin tones and low sunlight in hotter countries. Laying out this palette on a cold Spring day in the south of England, threw me into memories of sun-warmed skin and tanned toes. Its lightness and airiness is dreamy in photographs, and super easy to style too.
