What to do
Athens is named after the Greek Goddess of wisdom, Athena, and built around its main attraction, The Acropolis. The Acropolis dramatically towers above the city with 360 views of Athens (for the perfect Instagram photo), and is home to the Parthenon, Erechtheion and New Acropolis Museum. The Parthenon is a historical masterpiece not to be missed, dedicated to the goddess Athena these formidable columns, filled with mystery, were once a grand white marble palace. To the north side is the equally imposing Erechtheion where you’ll uncover the ‘Porch of the Caryatids’ with its 6 female carved columns.
Rooftop bars are scattered throughout the city; often hidden away, finding them is half the fun. Once you find one, an evening overlooking The Acropolis lit up with a cocktail in hand is a truly romantic setting.

Santorini

Home to out-of-this-world sunsets, a trip to Santorini is essential for any honeymoon in Greece. Whitewashed houses with blue domed roofs cascading down clifftops is the most iconic image of Greece. Its surrounding Aegean waters and unique black volcanic beaches only add to its appeal. Santorini is the tip of a dormant volcano, created by a devastating eruption in the 17th century which inspired rumours that Santorini is the lost city of Atlantis. The soaring cliffs, luxury hotels, and sublime views make for swoon worthy honeymoon pictures and assure that your jaw is consistently glued to the floor.
What to do
The clifftop towns of Oia and Fira offer sophisticated bars, boutique shops and gourmet restaurants to effortlessly while the day away. For the more active traveller, the 3-hour hike between Oia and Fira is a truly rewarding experience.
Food and wine in Santorini is exceptional. From refreshing Greek salads with local grown tomatoes to freshly caught fish, grilled to perfection.

Oia and Fira offer the most iconic Santorini sunsets. We recommend booking a table at a restaurant with views or booking a suite with a view, so you can enjoy it in privacy. There’ll be no better picture for the honeymoon album than the 2 of you gazing out to the sunset from your hotel’s infinity pool… timer most likely needed.
Getting there: You can reach Santorini from Athens by ferry or flight. The ferry takes 8 hours and the flight just 50 minutes so we tend to recommend the latter.

Crete
