Leather Jackets & Toffee Roses
The shoot was inspired by the juxtaposition of raw, undone finishes with the glamour of traditional and romantic weddings. As wedding trends evolve and intimate wedding days become more prevalent, as a team of creatives, we wanted to experiment with the boundaries of what’s traditionally seen as “acceptable” for a wedding day. The perfect mens leather jacket give this shot really great feeling. We love the jacket detail so much.

The Concept
Inspired by at-home engagement sessions, tattoos, the contrast between neutrals and bold reds, dried florals and greenery, we created this shoot to remind couples that their wedding should be all their own and if that’s edgy and just a tad provocative, then do it. There are no rules in authentic love.
The Stationery
Shayna of Shaytionery Designs created an invitation suite and menu using the venue, The Whiskey Factory, as inspiration with the desire to create something new, modern and non-traditional. The round shape of the invites echoes the curves of the whiskey barrels throughout the space, while leather and rust accents bring a masculine sensitivity to the design, reflective of the warmth and strength of a great glass of whiskey.
The Decor
When putting together the decor, Erica of Elite Events Design saw an opportunity to create an intimate, sexy and moody head table that features contrasting design elements. The industrial environment and brick environment is softened by the warmth of the wood tables, the curved black chairs and flowing ivy. The black chargers and metal details juxtapose the placemats and showing the atypical menu design of imperfect shapes.
The Florals
Ivy over the length of the table brings a softness and pop of colour to the stark white brick wall behind the table and the floral arrangements by Ashley of Brunette Blossoms feature toffee roses and carnations that contrast the pampas grass bunny tail and other dried florals, bringing a feminine quality to the design.
The Bridal Look
And finally, the bride’s bold plum lip and striking tattoos are met with undone waves and a simple low-back dress.
I adore this styled bridal shoot – the dreamy toffee coloured roses set against the cool indie / biker couple vibe is my jam!
