Rustic Luxe Wedding at Maunsel House
Black-tie elegance in the heart of the countryside.
There is something so chic and glamorous about a black-tie wedding. When you typically think of such events, you may envisage vast, highly polished, opulent ceremonies in a formal 5* London hotel. The concept behind this shoot was to show couples how to capture the essence and drama of a luxurious black-tie wedding but to reimagine it in a fresh, more relaxed way, set amongst the natural beauty of the English countryside, a rustic-luxe wedding shoot.
Maunsel House
The beautiful ground of Maunsel House was a great inspiration for this shoot, as we wanted to inspire couples to head outdoors for their ceremonies and dining. We deliberately chose to shoot in early June, at the crossover of the spring and summer flowers and we were so fortunate to capture both the wisteria and early roses in full bloom over the garden pergola. To complement the stunning gardens, we chose a gentle colour palette of whites and warm neutrals, accented with Mediterranean dusty blues, olive greenery and small pops of bolder lavender blues and violets to add depth.
The Bridal Look
Our model, wore a stunning Enzoani gown with an off-the-shoulder design, featuring embroidered and Chantilly lace throughout, with a spectacular, semi-sheer boned back. Brimming with contemporary romance and elegance, it perfectly suited the concept and was accessorised with delicate, minimalist accessories. The make-up and hair enhanced the model’s natural features with a dewy, natural look, brought alive with a strong, rich lip and finished with a relaxed, textured ponytail, which is very on-trend. Our groom mirrored this contemporary, luxury feel with a slim fit, black ensemble which oozed modern sophistication and charm.
The Wedding Breakfast
The wedding breakfast took place under the semi-covered pergola, within a sheltered, walled garden. Table styling featured luxurious place settings, including glass charger plates layered with gently knotted cheesecloth napkins and luxury stationery featuring elegant wax seals and textured dried grasses. The tablescape featured a carefully curated selection of bud vases, potted lavender and tall, elegantly tapered candles in shades of dusty blues and whites. To add texture and height, the ceiling of the pergola was dressed with wild, creeping greenery, set amongst contemporary Edison bulbs, which helped to envelop the table and enhance that magically intimate, secret garden feeling. The décor and concept were also echoed in the stunning seasonal cocktails, created especially for this shoot, and presented through a charming yet luxurious horse-box bar.
The Florals
The elegant and romantic floral arrangements featured loose, flowing designs, incorporating wild textures and fragrance, in a summery colour palette of greens and whites with pops of nudes, soft blues and lavender. Olive and eucalyptus gave a classic nod to the Mediterranean palette and scented roses, sweet rocket and lavender added fragrance. Soft floaty florals, such as delphiniums, nigella, clematis and quicksand roses also brought colour and texture to the displays.
The relaxed yet opulent bridal bouquet was a soft, romantic hand-tied arrangement of olive, scented roses, quicksand roses, sweet rocket and nigella with a luxurious, trailing silk ribbon.

The Rustic Luxe look is all about combining rustic, natural elements with luxurious materials and layered components. Full, opulent tablescapes and luxurious place settings can be layered up with beautifully textured linens, luxurious tableware and stationery, where every little detail works in harmony to create great impact and wow factor. When it comes to florals, think wild, textured and dramatic with a hint of polish and sophistication. Bespoke, seasonal cocktails are also a fabulous way of creating a luxurious, high-end feel.
