An Adelaide Wedding With Dark & Moody Decor: Cayde & Luke

Luke and Cayde married at the Manor Basket Range, Adelaide, in South Australia – They wanted their wedding theme to be different to the very “in trend” neutral themes of today, so opted for dark  & moody wedding décor, mixing traditional attire with eccentric décor.

They had single stem silk & preserved flowers throughout the venue, with handpainted wine bottles as vases (painted black), adding to the moody theme and tipping their hats to the Adelaide Hill wine.

Wedding Mini Dress

I originally wanted a specific style, based on a  dress worn by Serena Vanderwoodsen on Gossip Girl  (haha), which was basically a lace mini dress with a long lace skirt. I stumbled across this dress and overskirt in my size while considering designers.  The dress was exactly what I wanted, with the removable underskirt allowing me to achieve the “mini dress” look for our reception. 2 dresses in one!

Silk & Preserved Flowers

I opted for silk and preserved flowers as we were travelling interstate for our wedding and wanted to work with Courtney. My bouquet was based on inspiration from Instagram, I wanted it to be dark, moody and different. Our ceremony and reception were decorated with single stem flowers in vases, so easy to move from ceremony to reception.

Down The Aisle

After not being in contact with my father for quite a few years, I had considered having my mum or my twin brother walk me down the aisle, however with more thought, it felt more right for me to walk down the aisle myself. I don’t regret a thing and I felt so proud walking down the aisle.

Our Photographers

Charlotte and Morgan are the best in the business.  They’re extremely reliable, easy to work with, fun and phenomenal at what they do. Their style is still so versatile and always compliments any wedding.

Words of Wisdom

Think outside the box. A wedding doesn’t have to be what others expect it to be; you can create whatever wedding day you like. At the end of the day, nothing matters except that you’re marrying your love. Always remember that and let it guide you through what is important to you and what is not.

Memorable Moments

Every moment was magical!! It’s tough to pick a  favourite, but I loved our ceremony and going and dancing outside with everyone holding sparklers above us.
