8 Trendy and Beautiful Wedding Flowers for 2023 Brides

Are you getting married this year? If so, one of your big decisions will be to decide on your desired style of wedding flowers. There are many different aesthetics for wedding flowers, so it may take some time and research to narrow down which style will match your vision for your wedding. So we’ve collected some of our favourite aesthetics to help you out. Here are eight of the top projected trends for beautiful wedding flowers in 2023. Remember, no matter what you choose, your wedding flowers will add a romantic, fragrant touch to your big day.

1. Dramatic Cascade Bouquets

First, if you’re planning on having a bridal bouquet, you should consider a cascade bouquet. This particular shape of the bouquet is large, dramatic, and free-flowing. One of the most famous cascade bouquets was held by Diana, Princess of Wales when she was married. This style can incorporate a lot of different flower types, colours, and sizes, so this is a great option if you’re a flower enthusiast that wants a high-impact bridal look.

2. Maximalist Ceremony Installations

For your wedding ceremony, consider designing a large, maximalist installation such as an archway or backdrop for the ultimate romantic effect. These maximalist ceremony installations are also popularly made “en masse” using one singular type of flower, such as garden roses or baby’s breath. Using one single type of flower can give your installation a more otherworldly feel. For example, if you create a giant ceremony arch of flowers, they’ll blend together, creating a romantic backdrop that looks like it belongs in a movie. You could also create a hanging installation of baby’s breath that looks like an iridescent cloud. Add a little bit of spray paint to match your colours and you’ll have an unforgettable ceremony floral installation.

3. Smaller Bridal Bouquets

If you have more of a minimalist style, you might want to hop on this trend. Not all brides love large bouquets. This year, many brides are choosing to have smaller bridal bouquets that are simple and largely monochromatic, such as a nosegay or posy bouquet. These types of bouquets add a pretty detail to the bride’s outfit but let her beauty be the overall focus of her look. Plus, smaller bridal bouquets are much more affordable if you’re on a tight budget.

4. Barbie-Pink Everything

You’ve likely heard of the Barbie movie coming out soon…the trend of Barbie pink has also become incredibly popular among brides. To hop on this trend, you should design your wedding flowers with all different shades of bright pink. From peonies to orchids, you should be able to find plenty of different types of flowers that embody the bright, eccentric colours of Barbie. With these maximalist colours, your wedding flowers will be a showstopper for sure.

5. Minimal Greenery

In past years, layers upon layers of greenery have been very popular in all wedding floral arrangements. However, this year, greenery seems to detract from a lot of the large installations and dramatic colour schemes. If you choose to include greenery in your wedding flowers, consider keeping your greenery to a minimum. This will let your flowers truly shine.

6. Monochromatic Arrangements

Similar to the Barbie-Pink trend, monochromatic wedding flower arrangements are also “in” for the 2023 wedding season. Monochromatic contain only one colour, such as all cream flowers. Sometimes, it can be difficult to find fresh flowers that all match in colour. It can be helpful to use faux flowers, such as wood flowers, that can be dyed to match your ideal colour shade. When you use flowers that all belong to the same colour scheme (or colour family), you’ll end up with a dramatic and unforgettable result.

7. Unique Color Pairings

In past years, neutrals have been quite popular, but in 2023, unique and bold colour pairings are taking centre stage when it comes to wedding flowers. For example, instead of only using blush and coral colours, you can add lilac, bright yellow, and baby blue to dress up your floral colour scheme. Instead of sticking to really light pastels, you shouldn’t be afraid to throw in bold, jewel tones such as emerald, sapphire, and deep purple. These unique colour pairings will make your wedding flowers stand out even more.

8. Dried Flowers and Wood Flowers

Finally, you don’t have to pay the expensive price tag of fresh flowers to have beautiful wedding flowers. If you want the fresh flower look for less, wood flowers will be a great option for your wedding flowers, since they’re designed after real fresh flowers, such as garden roses. Dried flowers and eco-friendly wood flowers are just as popular and gorgeous as traditional fresh flowers. Plus, these flowers are more easily to personalize since they can be custom dyed and arranged in all sorts of unique arrangements.
