Laura and Matthew’s love of simplicity is reflected in their intimate nuptials, quietly tucked away in the big city. The pair originally met while living in Iowa.
Shortly after meeting, Laura moved to the city of Chicago. Only a year later, she found herself helping Matt look at apartments in the same area. As it would turn out, Laura and Matt moved in together only one year later. During a road trip to Arizona, Matt proposed. They joyfully returned from the Grand Canyon – engaged!
A delightful outdoor garden was juxtaposed against the rustic brick exterior of Firehouse Chicago, which created the feeling of an inviting, secret garden wedding in the city.
For Laura and Matthew, keeping things simple was an intentional choice. Their celebration used the intimate space to create an elevated experience with high-end catering and live music, where they ditched a traditional dance floor altogether.
Instead, Laura and Matthew wanted guests to enjoy each other’s company. The live music included different ensembles throughout the day, which changed from ceremony music to cocktail hour to the reception.
The wedding colour palette of blue, red, yellow, and orange pop against the outdoor garden and historic brick looked amazing. As a one of a kind entrance, the couple slid down the fireman’s pole into their reception to start the celebration.
