From Historic Elegance to Vibrant Celebrations: A Pylewell Park Wedding Journey

Anything is possible with sunshine and a little pink – Lilly Pulitzer

The origins of Pylewell estate date back to the 12th century- it is a true historic country house but with a twist. At Pylewell, they do things their way.  This is a fun and playful wedding venue, with a historic and incredibly elegant backdrop. Making it the perfect place for you to celebrate those special moments in life with the ones you hold nearest and dearest.  Its bedrooms have been lovingly restored, with playful twists – perfect for helping the bridal party and close family feel treasured the night before and of your special day.

The Florals

Deciding the colours for your wedding flowers is always tricky. Do you opt for your favourite colours, do you try and include the latest wedding trends – whilst at the same time choosing something that will complement the venue? Without forgetting to reflect your personality plus – as with most weddings – you might have the kindly meant but confusing advice from a loved one or friend.

The inspiration for this shoot was to illustrate how a group of talented suppliers could re-create an intimate and vibrant wedding breakfast or pre-wedding dinner, whilst complementing the traditional elements of Pylewell Park

The Dress

The Bride and Groom are and should always be the stars of their wedding day. For our shoot, we really wanted to show that being different, fun and bold can also simultaneously be beautiful and elegant. Our stunning ceremony dress by Josephine Scott was just dreamy – who doesn’t want to feel like a true princess on their wedding day?

The patterned print of the soft pink English roses were a true reflection of Pylewell Park’s location, in the heart of the English countryside. Who doesn’t want to party on their wedding day? Who doesn’t want to be bold? Our hot pink evening dress by Anna Bridal made sure our bride was the star of the show – popping in a sea of stunning floral pastels.

If you are going to change your dress, change your shoes too! Our bridal shoes for the shoot were provided by Di Hassell (https://dianehassall.com/ ) and Charlotte Mills, with sparkling jewellery and hair accessories by Hermione Harbutt. With hair and make-up by CJC Hair & Makeup, we matched our bride’s hair and makeup with the style of each outfit.

Our Groom

Our menswear was provided by Neal & Palmer – a classic morning suit, with a twist – a pop of blue with his tie. For the evening his dark green velvet smoking jacket was polished & refined. If a bride can have multiple outfits changes, so should each groom!

The Dinner Set Up

To set the fun and vibrant mood, Ricky Paul Flowers chose fresh and bright colours – soft pinks with pops of strong orange and hints of blue running through the flowers. The hints of blue allowed us to incorporate the colours around the room into the flowers, a match made in heaven.

The embroidered napkins, with the venue silhouette, and the personalised pastel bows added that extra special touch, as well as complementing the colours of the flowers. And what a great gift to give your guests.  Our pink-rimmed charger plates and glassware by The Social Kitchen were our piece de resistance, tying together our tablescape with our bride’s evening party dress.

Adding a Touch of Choice

Sharing platters and tapas are forever growing in popularity – who doesn’t like having different delectable desserts to choose from! Kalm Kitchen provided a mouth-watering selection of mini desserts – perfect for guests to graze from throughout the evening. Adding a playful element, their chocolate lollipops & Ricky Paul’s Flowers complete with decorative pastel merry-go-round horses elegantly transported you back to the joys of your childhood.

Champagne or Cocktails Anyone?

After a three-course meal, the cake is more often than not left forgotten – but who forgets a glass of champagne or a cocktail? What a great way to start the evening (instead of cutting your wedding cake) by popping the bubbles for your champagne tower – have a glass of wedding champagne to kick start the evening!  Cocktails are one of the best ways to get the party started – reconstruct your champagne tower with cocktails to keep your guests dancing the night away. Espresso martinis are always the best to banish any tiredness and get the party going!
