At first, it was just a glance between two law students across the classroom. But, as interest grew, Jess and Connor began lingering around campus, hoping to bump into each other. Over time, they fell into a routine of walking to their cars together — but it was only ever flirtation until Connor finally asked Jess out…over Snapchat. She refused to go on a date until he asked properly. Fortunately, Valentine’s Day was around the corner. On their daily walk to the garage, Jess was surprised to find flowers and a note on her windshield asking her to go out with him. She agreed. Four years later, Connor asked her to marry him on her 30th birthday (in person, thankfully!). She said yes, ringing in her 30s with a dazzling ring and the title of fiancée.
Jess wanted her wedding to feel warm, cozy, and romantic. Beyond that, she was admittedly indecisive. After changing the color palette three times, she finally landed on soft cream and blush with pops of plum and burgundy. With much of their guest list coming from out of town, Jess and Connor wanted to pull out all the stops.
After a sentimental ceremony officiated by Connor’s brother-in-law, the newlyweds showed their guests the time of their lives. Drinks flowed, as did party beads and glow sticks, while a live band kept everyone on their feet. There were also plenty of sweets for the taking, with a yummy doughnut bar and Iowa State-themed groom’s cake!
