The London EDITION has long been known as a highly sophisticated Grade II Listed home-away-from-home in the heart of London’s West End – so you can imagine just how excited we were to discover that this chic gem of a venue is now licensed to host weddings.
The Want That Wedding team had the pleasure of being invited to the hotel’s first ever wedding showcase, in partnership with one of London’s premier wedding dress boutiques, Browns Bride. We went on a journey through the hotel to discover, one by one, all three of the licenced wedding venues, starting with the studios. Intimate, sophisticated, with a neutral colour palette perfect for adding your own personal touches – the studios can hold as many as 80 for a drinks reception (or 60 in theatre seating) or as few as 12 for a dinner for your closest loved ones. Next, we were taken to the one-of-a-kind 2,098-square-foot penthouse, with its exquisite artwork and wrap-around landscaped terrace. Here you can host up to 50 in a luxurious drinks reception, or 20 seated for a banquet, in what would undoubtedly be a truly unforgettable meal. The last stop was the atmospheric basement, wood panelled and just cosy enough to get the party well and truly going. It’s rare to find a basement that’s this inviting and polished, and so well equipped for an afterparty that is as exciting as it is stylish.
The experience went beyond just the spaces: while exploring, we saw unique wedding dresses, accessories and shoes from Browns Bride, fresh and dry floral design by East London’s Grace & Thorn, decorations from Elari Events and Steven Duggan, wedding cars from AZ Luxe, and beauty treatments from Lakshmi Boutique and Spa. Canapes came straight the hotel’s award-winning Berners Tavern Restaurant, all to the tune of divine string covers by the Urban Soul Orchestra.
We learned that London wedding packages are bespoke, but prices start from £150 per guest, including a dedicated hotel wedding planner, a complimentary honeymoon room for the couple, a complimentary wedding breakfast tasting for two guests, and discounted rooms rates for the wedding party (now, to choose from their 173 stunning oak-floored and wood-panelled rooms…). In-house catering is available for wedding parties of up to 150 guests.
In this balancing act of polish versus personality, and perfectionism versus individualism, we think the hotel offers something truly unique to the UK wedding market, and we’re so excited to share our photos from the day! For more information on their packages, do have at browse through their website – and for any help with your wedding planning or styling, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
