Baroque Baroque ~ Wedding Inspiration

Happy Saturday ladies! How are you my dears? It feels like this week has just zipped by.. I started a new job this week so I’ve been caught up in the adjustment period that always follows. My new job’s for a really lovely company based near Charing Cross and everyone has been super friendly and welcoming. The company looks after its employees and has some really schweeet benefits like daily fresh fruit, bread and spreads, a weekly staff lunch where an actual chef comes in to cook {the raspberry pavlova was to DIE for} and a ‘beer trolley’ on a Friday, full of tasty sweet and savoury treats, wine and beers… talk about being spoilt rotten!

The new job is part time to enable me to concentrate on bringing you your daily inspiration of wedding pretty. Unfortunately though, I’ve struggled with that aspect this week {apologies} as I’ve been permanently knackered! Fingers crossed I get myself into a decent routine next week :)

Anyways, that’s enough about me! I hope your wedding plans are coming along nicely? Today, I’m excited to be sharing this baroque baroque wedding inspiration. Recently, it seems you can’t open a magazine without baroque styling jumping out of the page! So, this begs the question, how do you incorporate baroque styling into your wedding day and what exactly is baroque?

Baroque is a period of artistic style that used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur in sculpture, painting, architecture, literature, dance, and music. The style started around 1600 in Rome, Italy and spread to most of Europe. In modern usage, the term ‘Baroque’ may still be used to describe works of art, craft, or design that are thought to have excessive ornamentation.

So you know me ladies… I’ve gone a little baroque crazy and created various mood boards to whet your appetite and show you different ways to use baroque to style your wedding!

Baroque patterns are popping up everywhere this season. Ever since Dolce & Gabbana sent an army of ornately gilded models down the runway, we’ve been seeing everything imaginable embellished with opulent detailing. From jackets and dresses to bags and shoes, there are so many ways to go baroque.

You can modernise baroque by bringing it bang into the 21st century! Use bold pops of bright, clashing colours. I adore baroque glass wear and baroque frames in vivid modern colours.

I also love the opulence of baroque that makes you think of Marie Antoinette. This opulent baroque styled shoot just oozes with sumptuous detailing. Dramatic hues of golds, purples and reds paired with decadent chandeliers, floral bouquets and ripe, succulent fruits add to the dramatic style.

And, if this all a tad too over the top for you and you’re more of a classic type bride, there’s still no reason why you can’t bring elements of baroque into styling of your day. Take a look at the stunning baroque pattern on this beautiful Peggy Porshen wedding cake, the delicate paneling on the the River Island dress and the pretty floral detailing on the Dolce and Gabbana earrings!

What do you think my dears? Do you dre imagine baroque baroque wedding inspiration for your big day?
