With the very long springs that we have been having, we felt like forcing summer round the corner a little bit by planning a sunny, summer-inspired look that radiates warmth right through the pictures!
Words and images by Rosanna Lilly Photography.
Firstly tropical leaves, colourful structured petals, fruit, and an eclectic mix of glass bottles and vases, right through to the leaves on the tables and big bouquets. With the beautiful sailcloth tent, it really was a blank canvas showing how a bride can really make a statement with their outside wedding or venue styling.
As we wanted to keep the shoot modern, we brought in a few less traditional elements. Firstly, each of the tables was given its own unique personality, using bold & playful ways to tablescape within a tropical theme…proving that not everything has to match to look great!
We were able to make the look flow by keeping some constants throughout the flowers, accent colours, type of tableware and stationery! To further keep with the modern look, Lucky Nibs designed the really cool see-through acrylic calligraphy table plan and nameplates. The writing in gold and white reflects the colours used throughout the styling, which helps to connect the different table looks together! Also a great alternative to a more traditional frame, or easel printed table plan.
Caroline, our fabulous stylist from The Wedding Alchemist suggested that in order to achieve a tropical look, use as many bright colours as you can find! Use beautiful colourful flowers and tropical palm and leaves to compliment any décor pieces. The key colours here are pink, green and yellow with a bit of gold sparkle added into the mix. Black and white can be added to tone down the colour if required, but big and bold is the way to go – so we did!
Mara from Timber & Canvas: We are all about laid back, natural events in the great outdoors. From Nordic tipis to airy marquees, geometric domes, furniture and accessories, we specialise in making unforgettable parties under the stars. It’s very important to us that we always provide a service that is fresh, new and exciting for our brides and grooms, so every year we aim to grow by adding at least one entirely new type of structure to our offerings. This year, we engineered and manufactured our own, one of a kind Geodome, featuring engineered wood beams and natural canvas rather than metal, plastic or PVC (we’re called Timber & Canvas after all!)- and it’s majestic if we may say so ourselves. We really believe in going the extra mile to create new trends and provide our customers with the party of their dreams!
