Beautiful Travel Inspired Real Wedding in Crete: Mark and Danielle

We got married at Agreco Farm, Rethymnon, Crete – We chose this venue after we were looking at wedding venues on Pinterest. We always wanted to get married abroad and as soon as we saw the photos of the little pink chapel we knew instantly that it was the venue for us!

We planned our wedding with Annika from Moments. She was amazing from start to finish and we couldn’t recommend her and her team enough!

We wanted a travel theme for our wedding as we love exploring new places. A few years ago we went backpacking around the world and just had the best time!

My dress was from Rosa Clara, Soft Collection. As soon as I saw this dress I fell in love with it! I loved the back and the softness of the tulle. It was light to wear and I just thought it looked so dreamy, it was perfect for a destination wedding.

When we were backpacking a few years ago we had a travel blog to keep our family and friends updated with our whereabouts and what we had been up to. When we returned home Mark turned our blog into a magazine and one Saturday morning surprised me with it! Inside the magazine, he made a little insert about our life together so far and it was then he popped the question! It was so thoughtful and just us to a T, it was perfect.

Our wedding photographer was Hanna Monika. We really liked Hanna’s style and wanted her and her partner to capture our day. They were great to work with and made us feel at ease and we couldn’t be happier with the final edits.

We had little suitcases used as part of our centrepieces and each table was named after a country we had visited together. We also had suitcases and globes to decorate our sweet table. All of our stationery was themed with maps.

If we could impart any words of wisdom we would say… Plan a day that represents you! And if planning a destination wedding I’d definitely hire a wedding planner. Annika from Moments took the stress out of everything and made sure we had the best day ever.

Our big day was inspired by our love of travel. All of our stationery from the table plan to place names was themed with maps. We had little passports for our order of service too and our tables were named after some of our favourite countries that we have travelled to. Our wedding favours were little suitcases filled with sweets. Our sweet table was decorated with suitcases and globes and our centrepieces were stood on little cardboard suitcases.
