Elegant Wedding Inspiration: Romancing at Rossington Hall
Today’s elegant wedding inspiration is set in a lavish venue which was once a residence steeped in history, and is now a luxury wedding venue.
This extravagant hall is the backdrop for our light and airy photoshoot, encapsulating the beautiful bridal suites and breakfast rooms. We took residence in one of these stunning rooms to create a lavish and pretty table setting, with large french windows and high ceilings, these were the focal point of these intimate side rooms.

Floral watercolour stationery in dusky blues and hints of pastel pinks designed in a classic contemporary style complimented the floral style and with an ‘escort style’ seating plan. A beautiful 3-tiered cake adorned the breakfast suit comprising of beautifully hand-crafted sugar flowers.
Spring is a beautiful season to get married from a florist’s point of view. With many of our Spring weddings, we always include bulbs, that peak through the moss or sit within vase arrangements. This is a lovely keepsake for all our wedding couples, so they can be planted after the wedding which is a lovely keepsake that keeps growing year after year as a romantic momentum of the day.
KMR Bespoke Bridal Designer supplied the silk gown and veils for this shoot. ‘Lily’ is a beautiful bias-cut slip dress with a low V back neckline and adjustable straps. The simplicity of this gown makes it very versatile when styling a bridal look. We chose to style it on its own, with a variety of veils and a lace bodice. ‘Libby’ is a lace bodice made from beautiful floral ivory lace. It is fastened with covered silk buttons and finished with a silk-bound neckline and scallop edge sleeves.
The three veils used included ‘Emily’, an ivory chapel-length silver glitter tulle veil, ‘Lottie’ a chapel-length veil finished with a beautiful, beaded lace edging and ‘Anna’ our classic plain ivory birdcage veil. A classic and elegant bun hairstyle complimented this final look, paired with the floral crescent.
Styling the ‘Lily’ slip dress with different veils and a lace top showcases how brides can mix up their bridal look throughout their wedding day and tailor each piece to suit their wedding and personality.
To complement the gown make-up was applied in an elegant and sophisticated application while still allowing the natural beauty of the bride to shine through.
Emma’s bridal bouquet was created with a concentration on space and by adding strong inky toned Anemones, giving the bouquet depth.
Tall glass candlesticks centrally placed in between a sublime mixture of spring-textured flower arrangements using bulbs and cut flowers. As eco-conscious florists, Fantail created designs from glass vases wrapped with Aspidistra leaves filled with multi-height stems including Antirrhinum, Delphinium, Larkspur, Muscari, Veronica, Ranunculus, Roses, Waxflower and Ginesta.
Sharon’s light and airy photography was the perfect style for our inspiration shoot. Her approach is fun and captured a relaxed setting even with the styled shoot that can sometimes look a little too posed. Most wedding guests actually think they’re friends of the wedding couple which we think is a massive compliment and you can see why after spending the day with her on-site.
We chose the light powder blue colour scheme to soften the room we were styling and created a peaceful and calm wedding breakfast setting. A setting where guests can feel relaxed and welcome.
As a florist, the advice I would give to couples when looking for wedding flowers is, to keep to the seasons and work with what nature gives you. Don’t be afraid to ask your florist questions – how the arrangements will be created, where the flowers come from etc. We are lucky to have a cut garden grown specifically for our wedding work, so we can mix it up with flowers grown in the UK and further afield.
