London City Wedding
We loved the idea of a city wedding and taking advantage of London’s beautiful town halls… what’s more iconic than Islington Town Hall?
Bridal Attire
For the ceremony, I wanted something super simple, not overly bridal… more ‘city chic’, if you will. Emilia Wickstead makes beautiful pieces and the moment I tried on the skirt I just knew it was the one! As for the top, fun fact: I’ve owned this for 3 years. Most of my wardrobe is Sezane and the combination of the open back and tie wrap made the look a bit more flirty. As for the reception dress… probably didn’t need a second dress, but I spotted this one online ages ago and just had to have it. I love how structured it is with the shoulders, while the zip sleeves make it a bit more disco. Plus the open back and short skirt made this super fun to rock with high heels.
Routemaster Wedding
As an American bride getting married in London to a Brit, I couldn’t not involve the iconic red double-decker bus. It proved a fun way to get everyone from Islington over to Marylebone for the reception.
Wedding Photographer
Where do I begin?! Sandra our wedding photographer was incredible to work with. We felt so at ease and could not be happier with everything that she captured for us on the day…looking back at some of the ceremony shots makes us a little teary-eyed as we relive the moment. Bonus: Sandra has shot at Islington Town Hall many times before, so her knowing the venue meant that we got some legit shots that we would not have otherwise.
Wedding Reception
One of the key considerations for choosing The Italian Greyhound was the look and feel of the room. They’d recently gone through a renovation so we were lucky that we didn’t need much apart from what they had in addition to the beautiful flowers from Bella June.
Wedding Favours
We originally didn’t plan on having favours, but the week prior when I saw that it was going to be 35 degrees the day of the wedding I panic-ordered these paper handheld fans from Amazon. Guests loved them as they were super practical!
