We chose Trevenna as our wedding venue because it gave us that ‘feeling’ as soon as we walked in and we knew it was the one. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows brought the Cornish countryside in, so we knew it wouldn’t matter what the weather was like on the day.
I’d already been to a few different dress shops and tried on a few, but when I tried on the dress I chose, this was the first that made my mum emotional and that immediately sealed the deal. I love the big lace on it; it looks a bit Spanish and has a low back.
My evening dress I chose because I knew I wanted to DANCE and I wouldn’t have been able to go all out with my dance moves in my other dress, which was tight and restrictive!
Lee our wedding photographer is everything you could want from a photographer. He’s friendly and immediately puts you at ease; a whirlwind of energy getting all the pictures you need, and of course, the photos themselves are fantastic. We also received our photos quickly after the wedding, which really impressed us. I would highly recommend Lee.
My mum prepared lots of small vases with homegrown flowers for the wedding tables as well as pastel coloured candles for that pop of colour.
We designed our own seating plan, welcome sign and DJ sign and had them printed locally on foam board. We bought inflatable guitars and microphones and had coloured heart sunglasses for the dancefloor.
If we could impart any words of wisdom we would say… It will reach a point where you’re still trying to organise lots for the big day, but then you realise that none of your guests know what is meant or not meant to be there so only do what you can and embrace the day. Admittedly, something will likely go wrong, but it’s important to not let it ruin your day. For us, it was the weather! It absolutely poured, but it didn’t matter.
Also, try and get everything sorted and bought 1 week/2 weeks before your wedding date and then go for dinner as a couple to celebrate all you’ve achieved. Then you’ve got 1 or 2 weeks of completely enjoying the countdown with nothing else to do.
