I’m loving the opulence and romance of today’s styled shoot, the abundance of dripping florals, sumptious fruits, ornate gold props, beautiful crockery plus the seriously romantic styling gives us a lot to swoon over. This shoot really makes me want to step back in time.
The inspiration for this classic wedding styled shoot was the Rococo era. A style of the aristocracy, Rococo emerged as a continuation of the Baroque style. In contrast to the heavier themes and darker colours of Baroque, the Rococo style was characterised by an opulence, elegance, grace, playfulness and lightness.
The focus of our styled shoot was lighthearted and romantic so a feel of affluence, style and grace was created. We wanted to design something different, something new, using interesting natural materials and elements to create textures, movement, colour and style in keeping with the characteristics of the Rococo era. Details such as music scrolls and musical instruments used on the table added to the shoot. A romantic atmosphere was set by the use of candles decorated with music sheets, veiling, ribbon and lace.
