Today’s real wedding is so pretty! Helaina & Ben had a rustic chic, pretty pink wedding in an idyllic vineyard setting.
Helaina is an absolute vision in her beautiful wedding gown. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful wedding dresses I’ve ever seen. That back detail. Stunning!!
If you love a rustic wedding with lots of pretty girlie glitz. You will adore this real wedding.

After trying on many dresses I was yet to find something that I felt comfortable in and that felt true to who I am. When I arrived at Babushka Ballerina I knew I would find my dress there as the style of dresses they had were exactly what I was looking for.
I loved how simple yet stunning my dress was- it had a beautiful embellished back and waist with a full length train. As soon as I put it on I felt like a goddess.
With one of my closest friends being a florist I was lucky enough to leave it all to her. I showed her some pictures of the colours that I liked and she made the order and put them all together for me.
I had complete trust in her and couldn’t have been happier with them. They were absolutely beautiful.
We went for a vintage look with the boys, as it matched the venue and style of the wedding.
The bridesmaid dresses were bought in store from Myers. I finally got all the girls together and they were the first dress we laid our eyes on. I fell in love with how simple they were and they, and the colour were perfect!
The bridesmaids wore a necklace and earrings from Lovisa. They came in a set and tied in with the embellishments I had in my dress and jewellery.
I was always going to have a veil but once I found my dress I didn’t want to cover the back up so I wore a head piece instead.
My bracelet, headpiece and earrings were all purchased from Babushka Ballerina I selected this as I thought it all complimented my dress and brought the whole look together nicely. It also added a point of difference and uniqueness.
My Dad gave me away and we walked down the aisle to Marry Me Train.
Ben proposed on the 2nd anniversary of our very first date. We were in Thailand at the time and he organise a 5 course meal on the beach. The meal was amazing! When we got back to the room there were rose petals on the bed reading ‘Marry Me?’
Photos are the lasting memory you have from your wedding day, so we were desperate to find a great photographer that was easy to work with, passionate and creative with their work.
We feel that our photographer, Meghan Bates. ticked all those boxes. She came highly recommended to us from my friends in the UK. We fell in love with her work and after a conversation via skype, we arranged for her to fly out to Australia to photograph our big day.
Upon her arrival, we drove around the hinterland and identified a number of great locations for our wedding photos. On our wedding day, Meghan was with us from morning to night. She captured our day beautifully and we couldn’t be happier with our photos. She was an absolute delight to work with.
For our centrepieces we had a three tear crystal candles with poses in a vintage jar with twine wrapped around them.
We used an old picture frame, which sat on a barrel to display the seating plan. We roughed up the frame to make it look a little more rustic.
We had a wishing well that the venue supplied for our guests to put there cards in.
Our wedding cake was made by a family friend Meriam Thomas and was a two tierd sponge cake – the top tier was vanilla and bottom tier was a chocolate mud cake. We just wanted something simple and unique.
If you could offer any words of wisdom to a Bride to Be planning her wedding day, what would they be?
Do what feels right for you both, not what everyone is expecting you to do. Try not to stress over every detail and enjoy the whole experience from choosing your venue to finding your dress. It’s not just about the one day it’s about enjoying the whole journey.
What was your most memorable moment of the day?
Between the ceremony and the reception when we were doing photographs was amazing, because we were close together, with the opportunity to talk and relax without many people except some of our closest friends around us at the time. We loved letting out hair down at reception dancing a chatting to everyone.
What a seriously gorgeous couple and wedding!! Thanks so much to Meghan Lorna for sharing these super pretty images with WTW.
