Today’s real bride has the following advice about planning your wedding.
Enjoy every minute as the day goes so quickly. Also don’t worry about all the little details that don’t go to plan as none of your guests would notice unless you told them!
Laura and Ben were inspired by their own house when it came to the styling of the big day – lots of mercury and glass, and the cutest wedding guest, ever, ever!

We chose Stokes Farm Barn in Wokingham, Berkshire. We picked this venue for the beautiful grounds and how nice the barn was inside.
My wedding dress was by Demetrios Bridal. I loved that it was different to a normal bridal gown and I liked the heavy lace detail and wanted long sleeves with a v neck.
My father walked me down the aisle to Ed Sheeran – Perfect.
Our wedding photographer was Charlotte Wise Photography. Charlotte was so friendly and made the whole photo process so easy, we can’t recommend her enough.
The bridesmaid dresses were from Quiz. I chose the Bardot wrap maxi dress in Powder Blue.
Most of the wedding flowers were artificial including the top table arrangement and the arrangement for the registry table. All of the table centres were also artificial and it was all put together by myself.
However, the brides and bridesmaids bouquets, groomsmen buttonholes, cake flowers and greenery were real and supplied by Flower Monkey.
For wedding decor, we hung lots of white voile with ivy around the venue to soften the look. Sometimes too much wood can look very masculine and I wanted it all to look warm and elegant.
We used net lighting behind the head table and covered it with more voile. We also used a lot of chrome and mercury glass around the venue from lanterns to lamp tables.
For wedding favours, we provided two different types of shots as our favours. One was apple sours and one was tequila. We had them in miniature jam jars with labels on.
Throwing the bouquet and my sister Rachel catching it was one of the most memorable moments. All of the boys ran over to her boyfriend and started cheering and hugging him.
Our first dance song was James Arthur – Say You Won’t Let Go. We chose it as we both loved the song and it is quite emotional, so it worked well for the wedding.
Words from their photographer Charlotte Wise…
Laura and Ben got married in June, their day was very emotional (they’ve been together since a young age), it was also a very beautiful and glamorous wedding and they had a special visitor on the day too – their baby (dog) Nelson.
The bridal party and guests loved him and he photographed so well! It was such a wonderful day, the sun was shining, everyone was enjoying themselves. I feel like their wedding was different to the standard barn wedding, it definitely had that touch of elegance and glamour – everything was planned perfectly. Laura looked absolutely beautiful, her dress was stunning and the grooms attire was also well put together.
