An Elegant White & Dusty Grey Destination Wedding In Italy: Alexis & Robert

An Elegant White & Dusty Grey Destination Wedding In Italy

Villa Grabau in Lucca was the venue for our destination wedding in Italy. Lucca was the first trip outside of Germany that Robert and I made together as boyfriend and girlfriend on our anniversary. We fell in love in, and with, Tuscany. Villa Grabau was a no brainer when we saw the place. The house was beautiful, the grounds outstanding, the Lemonaia an Italian dream. It is the perfect mix between Italian charm and European sophistication. And of course, the food and wine were out of this world.

For my wedding dress, I was looking for a sophisticated look. The open back and deep V in the front made the dress really comfortable to move in. The fabric had different layers which gave the dress lots of movement and dimensions. The added removable skirt made it possible to completely transform the look from the ceremony to the dinner.

The flowers complimented the beautiful venue. Having so much green around the grounds we went for white flowers with dusty grey accents.

White orchids were chosen as the predominant flowers for the bouquet and button since they are one of our favourite flowers. Fiori Fiori was super versatile and had great ideas on how to make the floral arrangements work. She also added the perfect amount of dusty blue accents without dwarfing the subtle white.

My Dad-Cristobal Lua walked me down the aisle to the Traditional Bridal Chorus, by Wagner (Here comes the bride). Walking down the aisle was one of my most memorable moments.

Our wedding was a mix of cultures, I was born in Mexico City, Robert in Manchester UK. We met in Germany while working for different industries; therefore by chance. We had guests from all over the world, UK, Mexico, Australia, USA, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Brazil… it was amazing seeing so many people who made the effort to join us.

If we could impart any words of wisdom to future brides/grooms planning their wedding day, they would be… Enjoy the day, it goes by so fast. I wish mine lasted longer. Perfection is not the point of the moment but having a great time alongside the most important people in your life. Things will go wrong but none will notice, and if they do take a deep breath accept it and move on, nothing is so significant to ruin that special day as long as he is there waiting down the aisle.

What an incredible destination wedding in Italy, oh and that venue! Congratulations to the happy couple, Alexis & Robert, such a gorgeous wedding.
