Colourful Marigolds Wedding Overlooking The Hudson Valley

The venue was absolutely stunning and needed very little even though we used colourful marigolds for our wedding them. When we saw the property, we knew we had found something really special. Daniel had been coming to the area for 20+ years, together we had been going there for over 10 years, the Hudson Valley has always been an important place for us. To share this piece of our lives set against the backdrop of the Estate House and the Hudson Valley was truly so special for us and our accidental destination wedding.

The Dress

My wedding dress was by Pronovias. I had gone to a bunch of salons and was looking for something very simple but elevated. I tried on my dress earlier in the day at another bridal salon and HATED it. We went to Pronovias and I have no idea what made me try the dress again, but I did, put it on and just knew it was the one.

The Aisle

Daniel and I walked down the aisle together to Van Morrison’s “Crazy Love” which was played by this amazing acoustic guitarist our wedding planner found for us. It was absolutely perfect.

The Decor

We let the venue influence and inspire our vibe. We focused on local vendors and special details. We used marigolds for their symbolism with those who have passed, the silk we used to cover our chuppah was a gift from Daniel’s family friends, we were married by our two best friends who had also been best friends since 4th grade. We promised to remain true to who we were, use details to tell our story and share our love with our guests.

Words of Wisdom

Wedding planning can be brutal, the marriage is what’s important. It was hard to remember that at times with lots of opinions being shared. Remember why you’re in it, and know you’re a team. The wedding will be the most perfect day because you created it and shared it with those you love most and who care and love you the most.
