A Royal English Wedding at Clearwell Castle

For this shoot, we drew inspiration from the pure elegance and opulence of British royal weddings. Sara Cooper Photography and I pulled together a huge team of incredible suppliers to bring to life our vision of a truly romantic, intimate experience. We give you carefully curated details, intimate moments, and luxury details in the Gloucestershire countryside to capture that quintessential British charm.

The Venue

Clearwell Castle is the perfect fairy-tale wedding venue. Set in acres of curated grounds, with a stunning façade, magnificent function rooms, and a 75-foot-long aisle, it is truly fit for royalty. To evoke romance and opulence, we focussed on a colour palette of cream, blush, pink and gold.

The Inspiration

Our tablescape, styled by the Two Hummingbirds, features the prettiest pink crockery, gold-rimmed glassware, and a stunning array of candles. The floral design focussed on gorgeous white and blush roses; our showstopper pieces being the dreamy meadow arrangements down the aisle and the statement urns by Raven and Ryegrass.

The Bridal Look

Our bride had natural-looking makeup, by Rose Forrest, and soft romantic waves to accentuate her features, and compliment her mesmerising Caroline Castigliano gown from Rachel Ash Brides. For the accessories, we had to have an Ivory and Co tiara (every Princess needs one!) with a show-stopping veil from Sash and Veil. Lacey bridal heels by Bella Belle Shoes completed the outfit. Our groom could only be in a Peter Posh tuxedo for the ultimate suave look to match his beautiful bride.

The Cake

For the cake, Elizabeth Anna Cake Design kept it simple and elegant, using soft pinks and gold leaf with intricate sugar roses for a romantic design. The stationery was bespoke, featuring an illustration of Clearwell on beautifully textured paper with stunning wax seals, created by Hannah Watt and Heirloom Seals.

The Carriages

A gorgeous carriage with white horses, from Catherine’s Carriages, was the perfect way for our real couple to arrive in unforgettable style. After an intimate ceremony with Liz Bagley Celebrant, we opted for a more modern getaway for Shriya and Baks, using a luxury vintage car from Satin and Lace Weddings. And what would a send-off be without plenty of real petal confetti? We had great fun using Shropshire Petals’ confetti cannons for these shots!

The Video

We were very lucky to have so many suppliers give their time to this shoot, and have the experience recorded by White Villa Weddings, who filmed the shoot day and show how all the details really came together. Wedding day magic really is possible when you have the best suppliers working with you on your special day.
