Alice In Wonderland Wedding
We married at Tavern on the Green, New York, NY. The venue combined both the outdoor garden feel Rebecca wanted with the iconic NYC skyline Ben wanted. The location in Central Park is classic, and the traditional mixed with quirky, whimsical details was perfect.
We wanted something a bit different…a little quirky with Alice in Wonderland vibes meets romantic, old NYC charm. We decided to have a daytime, outdoor September wedding at the classic Tavern on the Green, a Sunday brunch that lent itself to a relaxed and easy vibe.

Sample Sale Wedding Dress
I had an idea of the type of dress I wanted to wear, and got VERY lucky that I found the perfect dress at a sample sale shop, I paired it with a long, romantic cathedral veil. The shoes took a lot more time to pick. I settled on a deep purple, 6″ suede platform heel by Charlotte Olympia.
Velvet Smoking Jacket
Ben’s tux needed to be special as well, so we chose a velvet, burgundy smoking jacket with black satin lapels, black pants, black & burgundy skull-and-crossbones socks with black wingtip shoes.
Artisan Wedding Favours
I am the Founder & Creator of a home decor brand, Charlie Sprout, that creates sustainable income for women artisans. The gifts we gave our guests as they left the wedding were Charlie Sprout coaster sets that I designed, and were made by the artisans she supports in eSwatini, Africa.
Goldfish Centrepieces
We had little bowls on each of the cocktail tables with a goldfish (for good luck…and our last name of Fisher. We loved the mix of black & white stripe and toile textiles.
Memorable Moments
Walking down the aisle to our song played on the piano; and standing under the chuppah and having an intimate and beautiful ceremony was incredibly special (and emotional since my father had passed away a handful of months earlier). This was also the first time we were around loved ones all together since neither of us had really met each other’s inner circles due to the pandemic… and everyone was there to celebrate us as a couple, at our wedding. People even flew in from different parts of the world, including Israel, London, and South Africa. It meant the world to us that people traveled far and wide to join us on our special day.
Just dancing and enjoying a magical day with the people we loved most without a care in the world felt incredible, especially when we danced the Horah (being lifted up in the chairs was both scary and hilarious). When I danced that father daughter dance with my new father-in-law, that was a memory that will never be forgotten. Our dog Charlie being walked down the aisle by my nephew in her blush tutu dress and purple hightop sneakers (to match her mom’s shoes) was so funny and sweet.
