French Chateau Wedding
The story of how Alfie and Emily ended up in Jackson, Mississippi, is just as harmonious as how they met. Alfie, originally from London, England, was planning to play soccer at the collegiate level. He was actively touring schools to decide which offer he was going to accept. Emily was planning to play volleyball and had nearly decided on a school in Boston.
However, she followed through on a promise to visit Millsaps College. Coincidentally, Alfie was on a sports team recruit at Millsaps during that same weekend. One evening, both the soccer and volleyball teams converged with their potential recruits. Alfie and Emily first met that night.
They exchanged numbers and kept in touch, officially starting their relationship in the fall as they began their semesters at Millsaps. Years later, the couple was engaged during a romantic trip to Puerto Rico.
The main focus for Alfie and Emily’s timeless Texas wedding was to find a classy way to display their personalities. This French-style chateau provided a stunning backdrop of natural stone exteriors, vaulted ceilings, and dramatic archways. The black and white colour palette included a focus on emerald green; a modern and punchy colour detail to their otherwise timeless aesthetic.
Taking the creativity into her own hands, the bride even designed her invitations and stationery using Canva and had them printed at a local print shop. For the ceremony, they assembled inside the marriage chapel, where white pews and delicate lighting created a soft glow.
There were many subtle nods to Alfie and Emily scattered throughout the day. Magnolias, the state flower of Mississippi, detailed the lace design on Emily’s dress and were also printed on their invitations. Cocktail napkins included a likeness of their dog.
A unique moment of “something borrowed” included Emily’s bridal robe, which was made from the train of her own mother’s wedding dress. Emily’s bridal jumpsuit and Alfie’s unbuttoned look led the way to the afterparty as the pair donned cowboy hats and elevated spirits.
Such a stunning wedding and I’m loving the emerald green influence in this chateu inspired wedding.
