Every good wedding has one! What am I talking about you ask? A dessert table of course. Or a dessert buffet. Or a candy station. Or perhaps you simply know it as a sweetie table.
Whatever you call it, it can be such a fun and creative way to keep your wedding theme or colour scheme running throughout, and of course, your guests will be rather chuffed and their bellies very happy with all the yummy treats and sweets on offer.
Laura Atkinson from The Sweet Stylist put together this romantic inspired dessert table featuring lots of lovely floral blooms and soft vintage touches. The pretty colour palette of pinks, ivory and nude lends itself to a soft, romantic and whimsical look. Total eye candy and erm. yummy edible candy too!
“I wanted to create a dessert table that encapsulated traditional vintage elements, like the soft coloured teacups and vintage suitcase but to also include modern touches, like the tissue garland backdrop. The paperie was soft and elegant, I chose pink parchment paper and touches of lace ribbon to keep with the vintage theme.”
The table was styled around gorgeous flowers (ivory avalanche roses, white freesia, pink tulips, pink veronica) by Tarnia Williams, Flowers for Weddings and a subtle lace backdrop finished with a nude, ivory and blush pink backdrop by Bubblegum Balloons. All the sweets and treats were displayed on a stunning off white dressing table.
The dessert table included crisp glass jars, filled with delicious confectionery that complimented the colour palette chosen by The Sweet Stylist.
The elegant treats included strawberry panna cotta, vanilla bean cupcakes and yummy dipped marshmallows.
And no wedding dessert table would be complete without a wedding cake to cut! Melissa Woodland Cakes married an all white confection with modern ruffle rosettes and a sphere of sugar hydrangea blossoms with classic piping. The vintage brooch added a touch of old fashioned glamour.
Wow. Doesn’t this dessert table look super pretty and delish!? I’m definitely a huge fan of tassel garlands and lace backdrops.
If you want to roll your wedding favours and dessert buffet into one, eliminating a few wedding costs too, this would be a thrifty and extremely delicious way to do that. Everyone wins. Yay!
