Tom & Jade organised a super fun and relaxed wedding day with tons of personal to them detail and a lovely spring-like like colour scheme of pretty pale yellow.
Jade looked ever the beautiful boho bride in her wildflower floral crown (want), blush pink floaty gown and quirky irregular choice wedding shoes.

I wore a fresh flower crown made especially for me by our florist, and it contained ears of corn, sweet peas, freesias, rose buds and daisies, all my choice due to my love of wild flowers and meadows.
My florist Sarah, was wonderful, and I had met her at a wedding fayre. She was an independent florist, and I knew she would be perfect in her style for me. I’ve always known that my wedding flowers would have to be wild flowers such as daisies, freesias, corn, rose buds etc. as I love wildlife and nature and meadows etc and wanted this to feature at our wedding rather than the slightly more traditional style of flowers.
Sarah was helpful and listened to our requirements. We provided her with teacups that I collected, for her to arrange table centre pieces for us. They looked beautiful at our reception.
Sarah was also very helpful in creating my flower crown, it was exactly how I wanted it. My bouquet was sweet and simple just what I wanted too. She was reliable and we were so pleased with our whole floral arrangements.
I only went to one wedding dress shop and found my dress instantly with help from the shop assistants. I never wanted a “typical” wedding dress, as that’s just not for me or my persoanlity.
I love boho, gypsy style clothing and flowery, floaty things so wanted to express this in my wedding dress. My chosen dress was a strapless, chiffon, blush pink floaty dress by a designer that I cant quite remember, but I bought it from truly gorgeous bridal boutique in Chichester, West Sussex. It was quite a simple dress, but it was just right for me.
When the shop assistant picked out this dress for me based on what I had told her after seeing lots of big white dresses that were not for me, I was a little unsure, but as soon as I tried it on, it felt right and I loved its floaty, feminine and pretty style. And I knew that it would be the dress I wore on my wedding day.
Our wedding day colour theme was pale yellow, and we wanted our two bridesmaids in this colour, however finding dresses was tough as this didn’t seem to be a popular dress colour for this year.
However we found the dresses from Yumi, and they were summer skater style dresses with flower detailing, again quite simple but pretty. I removed the belts they came with and replaced these with yellow silk ribbons from ebay instead, to add a more bridesmaid feel to the dresses.
My lovely Dad gave me away, I am very close to my dad and we are both quite similar in the sense we don’t really like public displays, so we both felt a little nervous and awkward walking down the aisle in front of people but it was lovely and very special to have my dad there with me.
We chose “I won’t give up on us” by Jason Mraz as my walking down the aisle song, as the words to the song are very meaningful and we knew this was the song for us on our special day.
We also had Jason Mraz “I’m yours” song as our walking out song, as it’s a very happy song with meaningfulness too, and it’s a feel good song that made us smile.
We had searched for a wedding photographer but didn’t meet anyone that we felt suited us and our needs, however I found a website online for a photographer based in Brighton, so sent an email and then we met up in person to discuss our requirements, and from that moment we knew that Sue Kwaitkowska was the photographer for us! She was fun, friendly, kind and helpful.
When we went for our pre-shoot, it was pouring down with rain and Tom and I were in summer clothes getting drenched and muddy but we didn’t care because Sue made us have fun and feel relaxed, it was great and we created some lovely memories.
Sue was reliable, and on our wedding day she worked so hard, and she felt more like a guest, which is what we wanted, as we didnt want too many formalities and stiffness on our wedding day.
Sue was wonderful.
After our wedding, she was also very helpful and efficient with processing the photos to us and keeping us informed. We highly recommend Sue.
We loved styling our wedding, we sourced most of our decorations from charity shops, ebay and boot sales. We made napkin holders out of jam jars and lace, old crockery from charity shops for the food, old tin baths from ebay to serve iced drinks, vintage watering cans sourced from friends and garden centres to display flowers.
I especially loved our after ceremony buffet display, the vintage crockery and watering cans of flowers made up by my Dad looked so pretty and rustic.
We collected table cloths from charity shops for our reception as we did not want formal white cloths with satin ribbons, no, we wanted vintage cottage style displays for our wedding day.
We had yellow balloons delivered for our reception tables just to add a touch of celebration.
Our wedding cake was stunning, we designed it ourselves and it was made by a family member. When I was younger I watched a programme named Brambly hedge, a children’s story of harvest mice and river bank tales. Our wedding theme was countryside, vintage, and natural, so we wanted this to carry on through with our cake. We didn’t want a traditional tiered cake with roses or bows etc.
Our cake was based on brabley hedge, we had mice bride and groom, with little mice at the bottom of the cake sitrting on the river bank eating a picnic. This cake idea was so important to us, as originally we had thought about not having a cake and saving money, but really we knew this wouldn’t feel right.
It’s so important to express personality through everything in your wedding, no matter how it may appear to other people, and having a brambly hedge themed cake was perfect for us and what we are like. I loved it! (apparently it tasted delicious too, I don’t eat cake ironically).
We wanted entertainment after our ceremony at the weald and downland museum, and so therefore, as wildlife lovers, we booked a local lady Sally, from Falco, to provide a falconry display, for us and our guests. We were able to handle eagle owls and barn owls and watch flight displays, it kept our guests entertained whilst providing great unique photos too.
During our reception, we provided handmade entertainment, by making from old wood and scraps of wallpaper, a photo booth, we cut out a hole in the wood, hung an old frame, and put together an old wooden case full of fancy dress that we had collected from charity shops. It kept our guests entertained and provided funny photos too.
We also found a huge old frame that we left around for people to pick up and play with, as well as leaving a basket full of disposable cameras for our guests to snap away with and for us to then develop later and see what was captured from our day by our guests.
We had a first dance, I felt quite embarrassed to be honest, as I’m quite a shy person, in private I can dance around and sing aloud but in front of people argh!
We chose “all of me” by John Legend for our first dance, as the words are so true and loving.
Such an adorable wedding. Love love love!!
