It may sound like a total cliche that your wedding day goes by in a flash, but it’s so true! You almost feel like you don’t get to own and rock your bridal look for long enough… and a girl’s gotta own it hasn’t she ;0
Today’s share is a gorgeous rock the frock shoot where two best friends are the muses. Emily and Charlotte have lots of fun playing dress-up with their wedding dresses – the result… these stunning images by Verman Photography.
Want the chance to win your very own rock the frock bridal shoot? Make sure you check the end of the post for all the exciting deets…
Both Emily (Brunette) and Charlotte (Blonde) married in the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints in Huntington during the same year, they are also best friends. Charlotte married in January 2013 and Emily’s wedding was September 2013.
Emily said “I wanted to do a post wedding shoot because instead of only wearing our dresses once on our wedding day’s we were able to wear our dresses again and try out different looks with our hair and accessories.
It was great to see how versatile styling your wedding dress can be, and I got to do it with my best friend, we were both bridesmaids at each others weddings so it was a lot of fun to play around in our dresses together.
We spent the morning getting ready together. Whilst getting ready Verman Photography would grab us for a few different shots. Once we had finished all of our hair and makeup looks we went to a nearby wood and were able to spend several hours taking it in turns to have our photos taken.
It was so much fun being able to do this shoot with a friend. We would recommend doing a rock the frock shoot to all brides!
I’m definitely a big fan of the post wedding shoot idea. Perhaps you have your mind set on a few different looks or styles for your big day? Wouldn’t it be so much fun to play out your bridal fantasies by dressing up your gown with different accessories and hair and make-up ideas.
I dreamt of wearing a super glam red lip on my big day with a statement ostrich feather swarvoski capelet. The reason I didn’t is because my hubby prefers me to wear a lighter lip colour, back then I was totally in love with the art-deco-esq vintage look. Over the years though my style obsessions have changed and continuously evolve. Now I dream of super romantic drop veils and elegant long-sleeved, lace wedding dresses… well that and a million other looks ;)

I would love to have a post wedding shoot . I’m an older bride so went for a more elegant look but it would be great to have some more relaxed and fun shots and the chance to wear my dress again would be a dream come true. I would also go for bolder make up. If I was lucky enough to win the shoot I would choose my sister. Although I didn’t have an official bridesmaid on the day , my sister did everything on the day expected of the role except wear a bridesmaid dress. She looked gorgeous in the dress she chose but unfortunately another guest had the same dress which she was disappointed with. We didn’t have many pictures together on the day and I would love to have the chance again with my sister in a unique dress so she could feel special too.
My wedding day (16 April 2014) was very classic and boring! I hated my hair and makeup, given the chance over I would add a bit more drama to my look and completely different hair, makeup and accessories!
I just got married on September 6th in Sceaux, France (just outside of Paris). Because we just had a simple civil ceremony, I went with a very simple, but classic kind of look. I opted for a short dress, hitting just above the knew in a heavy silk cream color and a halter-style neck. I had amazing shoes: “Isabel” in champagne by Jimmy Choo, which I saved for forever. Since I had a shorter dress, the shoes were important to me. For my hair, I did a classic French twist with some volume in the crown and a beautiful hair pin by BHLDN. To match the pin, I had pearl studs that were in the shape of a flower and in the same kind of style, a bracelet to match. I would love the opportunity to wear my dress again because as the post said: it’s cliche, but true that your wedding day goes by ridiculously fast! I think if I did it all over again, I would do something soft and romantic.
I’m going for an elegant 1930’s look on the big day (5th Sept 2015) but will be keeping the makeup sweet and pretty, the heels smallish and the accessories understated. If I won the shoot I would burlesque it up, with glitter heels, false lashes, bright lippy, and the most ostentatious headdress you’ve ever seen in your life! P x
Thanks so much for all your entries ladies! Sonia XxX Will keep you updated :))
What a brilliant idea, I love this! I haven’t worn my wedding dress for nearly 13 years!
It would be so amazing to get back into my wedding dress, unfortunately though, I’m not sure I’d even get a leg in it ;) XxX Sonia
