Beautiful Budget Wedding With Intricately Beaded Monsoon Wedding Dress: Hannah & Dan

This beautiful budget friendly wedding just goes to show that you don’t have to blow the budget or break the bank to have a super pretty and stylish wedding day.

Gorgeous bride Hannah found her perfect wedding dress in the wedding section of Monsoon and looked absolutely knockout! Not only did Hannah find a budget friendly wedding dress but her and husband-to-be Dan made their own wedding cake and sourced the flowers from covent garden.

We couldn’t have asked for a better reception venue. High Rocks is beautiful grand house concealed in the most beautiful ivy along a quiet country lane, situated just south of Tunbridge Wells. The venue is family run and we couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome by Maggie, Giuseppe, Joey and the team.

After several unsuccessful and slightly disheartening visits to Bridal Boutiques, I accidently found the bridal section in Monsoon when shopping with my mum one Friday evening- there was my dress.

It wasn’t the kind of dress that I had been searching for, far from it. But every detail felt comfortable, the colour complimented my skin tone (unlike so many of the brilliant white dresses I tried on), it wasn’t heavy, I could move with ease. Even with its intricate and elaborate beading it felt simple.

It really feels as if our wedding was an amalgamation of the skills, talents and generosity of our friends and family. My brother Tim owns a couple of classic cars, he kindly chauffeured us in his 1974 Triumph Dolomite, which looked the part in the country lanes around High Rocks.

We got married in our home church in Bexley; from the pastor to the congregation, the registrar to the musicians we were amongst friends and family. Our band played a pretty special rendition of ACDC’s ‘Back in Black’ as we walked out of the church.

Our wedding photographers White Stag Photography (Catherine and Andy) were amazing at making us feel at ease and their relaxed approach ensured the day was stress free. Hannah and I aren’t big fans of having our photo taken, but they were great at making us not feel self-conscious and took such excellent and natural looking photos.

Our very talented friend Isabel arranged our flowers and even took me to the Covent Garden Flower Market very early which meant we could be involved in choosing flowers that Dan and I both like.

We decided to make our own wedding cake, it seemed like a fun thing to do. It turned out to be rather a team building exercise- excellent marriage prep!
